Cancelling a Permit or License
If a permit or license was issued but not used (no work started), then the Permittee (Licensee) may request cancellation of the permit or license. Refer to PennDOT Publication 282 for specific requirements/provisions. An authorized PennDOT user can cancel a permit or license (BOL) only after the permit or license is in Issued (including Under Inspection) or Expired status in EPS.
To cancel an issued permit or license:
1. Access the applicable permit (license) from either the Application Portal or Application Search screens.
2. Click the Permit link in the Permit section of the navigation menu (near the bottom of the screen). The Permit screen displays.
3. Click the Cancel Permit (License) button on the menu bar. The Permit (License) Cancellation Justification screen displays.
4. Enter a reason into the Cancellation Justification field.
5. Click the OK button on the menu bar, and then click the OK button in the confirmation window.
After cancelling a permit or license:
· The status of the permit (license) is updated from Issued, or Expired, or Under Inspection to Cancelled.
· The cancelled permit (license) (including a watermark) is attached to an Email notification to the permittee (licensee).
· Any issued supplements to the permit (license) are also cancelled.
· Any draft or in-process supplements to the permit (license) are withdrawn.
· No changes can be made to the permit (license), except those which PennDOT users are able to make:
