Release Notes for EPS 4.0 June 2013
An updated version of ePermitting is now active. This update (4.0) includes:
Municipalities and Planning Commissions (Local Government Partners) Functionality
Local Government Partners (LGPs) have always, since the initial implementation of ePermitting, been able to create and submit permit applications for their organization. With Release 4.0, LGPs have additional functionality available to them. They can now
View all EPS permit applications submitted to PennDOT, through all stages of review, issuance, and post-issuance.
Set up and maintain a profile specific to their organization. A profile contains the following information:
Identification - provide the name, county, municipality, etc.
Notifications - Set when users want e-mail notification of permit application review activity within their jurisdiction.
Documentation - Identify the types of driveway applications (High Volume, Local Road, etc.) within their jurisdiction which require documentation from their organization prior to issuance.
Contacts - Choose who will receive e-mail notifications and provide applicants with contact information if they have questions about required documentation.
Fee Paid Date Restriction
Applicants will no longer be able to enter or edit the Fee Paid Date field. Only PennDOT can edit that field.
Applicant Contact Information Edits (Supplements)
When creating a supplement, the Created By field will display the name of the person creating the supplement, not the name of the person who created the permit application. On the Supplement Information page, the e-mail address and the phone number fields should be for the person who is creating the supplement and are now editable while in Draft status. These fields are also editable by PennDOT users with edit-access to the supplement application.
Attachment Display and Performance
For both permits and supplements, the file size of each attachment is now listed. Previous performance issues have been resolved.
Login Error Due to Expired Password Fix
Applicants with expired passwords can now click on the link to their application within an e-mail notifications without receiving an error message. Instead, Applicants will see a message asking them to change their password.
Payments Functionality Applies only to internal PennDOT users
EPS now receives payment information from SAP.
Notes Locations Applies only to internal PennDOT users
Notes functionality is now available on the Level of Effort and Review Summary pages.
Notes Copied from Previous Cycle (Supplements)
Whenever a supplement is returned for revisions and resubmitted into another cycle, the Notes from previous cycles will be visible to PennDOT users.
Conditions Copied from Previous Cycle (Supplements) Applies only to internal PennDOT users
Whenever a supplement is returned for revisions and resubmitted into another cycle, the included conditions from the previous cycle will carry over to the new cycle.
Work Summary Change Applies only to internal PennDOT users
While it is still not possible for PennDOT to delete an Applicant's Work summary details, PennDOT users do now have the option of including or excluding Work Summaries. At least one Work Summary is still required. Applicants can not choose to include or exclude Work Summaries and they cannot delete work summaries created by PennDOT. Applicants cannot edit work summaries marked for exclusion by PennDOT.
Response Letter Change Applies only to internal PennDOT users
When a Responder builds the response to an application and the text of the Response Letter is pre-filled, it has been up to the Responder to type the name of the Permit Manager and the Permit Manager's phone number into the text of the Response Letter for every issued permit. With this release, the name and phone number of the Permit Manager will auto-populate into the text of the Response letter, based on the County associated with the application. The Response Letter text can still be edited.
Responder and Authorizer Comments and Conditions Change Applies only to internal PennDOT users
Responders can now edit any condition or comment, regardless of if the responder or a reviewer added/created it. Also, Authorizers can now edit any conditions or comments.
Standard Comments Sections Applies only to internal PennDOT users
Standard comments available for selection will now be grouped by section. Users can expand/collapse sections to hide or display the comments iwthin it. In addition, a Delete link column has been added to enable the user to remove a comment. The Delete link column will be available only when the comment was added by the current user.
Supplement Comments Upgrade Applies only to internal PennDOT users
Users can now select standard comments and create custom comments for supplements in the same manner as on permit applications.
Data Corrector Fix Applies only to internal PennDOT users
A Data Corrector can now modify the Applicant's e-mail address without affecting the Applicant's ability to access the application.
Co-Applicant Deletion Fix Applies only to internal PennDOT users
Data Correctors can now delete co-applicants prior to issuance.
