Deleting a Customer or Billing Account
Editing a Customer or Billing Account
A CIMS Account Manager can delete customer accounts while they are in Preliminary status. After submission an account cannot be deleted; instead, it must be inactivated. If a customer account is deleted, all associated billing accounts are also deleted. Individual billing accounts can be deleted separately.
To delete an account:
1. From the main Portal, use the Account search to locate the account by number, or use the Advanced Search to locate the Account.
2. Enter a Customer Account Number. The Customer Account Information screen displays with all of the Customer information available. All Billing Accounts are listed and available for deletion using hyperlinks.
3. Select the hyperlink of the account to be deleted. A prompt Are you sure you want to delete this account? (Yes/No).
4. Select the appropriate response.
5. Click Save & Exit when finished.
