Bridge Occupancy License (BOL) Application Lifecycle
BOL Application Lifecycle
1. An Applicant, Agent for the Applicant, or PennDOT Receiver (on behalf of an Applicant) drafts and submits an application for a Bridge Occupancy License (BOL).
2. A Receiver (from the Permit Unit in the application District) then receives the application and assigns one or more Reviewers (from the Bridge Unit). The Bridge Unit can also assign secondary reviewers as needed.
3. The assigned Reviewers review the application, determine whether the information is complete and accurate, and indicate in EPS when they are complete.
4. A Responder (from the Permit Unit in the application District) then compiles any Reviewer comments, drafts a response letter, and assigns an Approver (from the Bridge Unit).
The Response Letter includes one of the following:
· Application for BOL Approved
· Application for BOL Approved (Pending Construction)
· BOL Not Required
· Application for BOL Returned for Revisions
· Application for BOL Denied
5. The assigned Approver reviews the response letter (and any corresponding response comments), and either approves it, assigns another Approver, or returns the response to the Responder for updates.
6. Once approved, a Responder or Authorizer (from the Permit Unit) posts the response.
7. EPS then sends the Response Letter (and License, if applicable) to the Applicant.
